SALVATION
Romans 10:9-14
We believe that salvation is achieved by believing in your heart that you are made right with God and by openly declaring your faith. Believing that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead. Salvation is deliverance from sin by God's intervention.
BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. Times change and people change, but the word of God stands forever.
We believe that The Bible contains all guidance necessary for salvation. The books in the New and Old Testament that are accepted as genuine and sacred (canonical) include:
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, The First Book of Samuel, The Second Book of Samuel, The First Book of Kings, The Second Book of Kings, The First Book of Chronicles, The Second Book of Chronicles, The Book of Ezra, The Book of Nehemiah, The Book of Esther, The Book of Job, The Psalms, The Proverbs, Ecclesiastes or the Preacher, Cantica or Songs of Solomon, Four Prophets the Greater, Twelve Prophets the Less.
All the books of the New Testament as they are commonly received are genuine and sacred.
The Old Testament is not contrary to the New, for both offer everlasting life to mankind by Christ, who is the only Mediator between God and man, being both God and Man. Christians are to abide by the 10 commandments, the law given to Moses from God in the book of Deuteronomy
ESCATOLOGY – End Times
We believe in the bodily, personal, second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saints, and the final judgment. The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, determined by their relationship to Jesus Christ. We believe in the final state of the new heavens and the new earth as stated in the Bible.
SACRAMENTS
We believe in two sacraments, water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion), both commanded by Christ as means of grace when received through faith. Both sacraments are for believers only and encourage, strengthen and affirm the believer.
Baptism is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life and is a testimony to all that the person now belongs to Jesus. The person is identified with Jesus in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Jesus’ bodily death and the shedding of His blood on the cross for our sins. Communion is to be celebrated until Jesus returns again and is a sign of our participation in Him.
THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe that the sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation is only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. As disciples we are to help followers of Christ grow up into maturity in Christ. We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to his authority over our lives and to the ministry of evangelism.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. Christian growth can only be realized by faith in the promises of God.
We believe that our ultimate mission is to bring glory to God by making disciples (Matt.28:18-20. We are called to make disciples through prayer, teaching of the Word, observance of the ordinances, fellowship, the exercise of our gifts and talents and the proclamation of the gospel both in our community and throughout the world.
Christians are called to live a holy life and to reject the priorities and desires of their individual sinful nature and of this spiritually dead world. The sinful nature will never be completely erased in this present life. However, the Christian responsibility is to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the Christian life is a process, a journey that is carried out daily with reliance upon the Holy Spirit to renew the heart of every believer.
THE TRINITY
We believe the words of Deuteronomy 6:4 where it states “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our
God, the Lord is one.” The teaching of the Bible is that there is but one Creator God.
We believe also in the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, who taught that God is a
Spirit as recorded in the Gospel of John Chapter 4. The New Testament makes it clear
that there is unity in the Godhead of three persons of one substance, power and eternity
– Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Church is, therefore, commissioned by our Lord to
“go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:28
